Administrative and Leadership Work

Read on to learn more about my various roles as an administrator in the music community.

North Shore Music Teachers Association

I am an active member of the North Shore Music Teachers Association (NSMTA), the local branch of Music Teachers National Association. I feel a deep sense of commitment and dedication towards this nonprofit organization, and I engage in professional development through this group as often as possible. It is my mission to promote the use of technology as a tool for running the organization, promoting our programs, and streamlining the event registration process.

I have served as the Achievement In Music Exam co-coordinator since 2008. Our chapter runs examinations for over 75 participating teachers and 650 students.

I am also the Website Chair (since 2021), overseeing the public website and working in tandem with my husband, Jason Craft, in building a custom Member Portal.

Illinois State Music Teachers Association

I am a member of the Illinois State Music Teachers Association (ISMTA) and sit on the AIM committee as the AIM Piano Technology Coordinator. My role involves using my technological skills to support the AIM Piano committee. I am on the Theory committee, and oversee the editing and prepping of the annual Theory exam for state-wide distribution. The AIM committee is currently embarking on a collaborative project of revising the AIM syllabus curriculum. This is a dicennial process of reviewing the existing repertoire and adding new pieces the repertoire lists.

Registration & Billing Administrator

Since 2022, I have worked part time as the Registration and Billing Administrator for Northwestern Music Academy (where I am also on piano faculty). This involves managing registrations, tracking incoming payments, sending invoices and reporting payroll hours.

I feel so fortunate that Iā€™m able to provide my technical and administrative expertise in support of my colleagues at the music school.
